OUR BELIEFS & VALUES

See the heart of who we are
and our passion to follow after Jesus

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • The Bible, including both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16-17)

  • There is only one true God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (II Corinthians 13:14)

  • In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • As God’s son, Jesus was both human and divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. The Lord Jesus was crucified for our sins, died, and was buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven. (John 1:1)  He is alive today, making intercession for us at the right hand of the Father. (Matthew 1:18-25)

  • Man was created in the image of God, but that by voluntary disobedience fell into sin. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12)

  • All who by faith believe in and receive the Lord Jesus Christ receive eternal life. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • Water baptism by immersion is an outward sign of an inward work of God’s salvation. (Matthew 3:13-17)

  • Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation. (Luke 22:19; I Corinthians 11:24-26)

  • The baptism of the Holy Spirit for all believers is a definite endowment of power subsequent to, and separate from salvation. (Acts 2:4)

  • It is God’s will for us to walk in the Spirit, be sanctified daily, draw closer to God and become more like Christ. (Philippians 2:3-5; Galatians 5:16)

  • A final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15)

  • In the fellowship of all believers in Christ  (I John 1:3-7; I Corinthians 1:9) and places a high priority on the gathering of the Body of Christ together to provoke one another to love and good works (Hebrews 10:23-25) It is important for each individual to do his or her part for the whole body, so that every need can be met.

  • Discipleship and training is needed to perfect the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). The Church has been called to go out and make disciples.

  • In divine healing. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17)

  • In the blessed hope that Jesus will rapture His Church prior to His return to earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and meet the Lord in the air and the Christians who are alive will be caught up with them to be with the Lord forever. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17)

  • In the millennial reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. (Revelation 20:6) At that time many in the nation of Israel will recognize and accept Him as the Messiah, the Savior, who died for them and all mankind. (Isaiah 11)

  • We can look forward to the perfect new heaven and new earth that Christ is preparing for all people, for all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. “And so shall we forever be with the Lord!” (Revelation 21:1-4)

CORE
VALUES

  • Worship and Prayer:  A regional gathering called the Phoenix House of prayer for His presence is our first and foremost priority.  (Psalms 27:4) “One thing I desire and that will I seek all the days of my life, is to behold the beauty of the Lord, and inquire in His temple”.  We want to be used to usher in His presence and kingdom to bring a powerful and hopeful perspective, which transforms lives, communities, and regions.

  • Relationships:  Organic community and relational integrity is built by living and sharing life together. We desire to be a place of refuge for all who are called here. We do this by meeting in small groups once or twice a month, as well as build relationships on a regular basis. All ministry at New Promise comes out of relationship with one another.

  • Israel:  An understanding to pray for God’s redemptive purpose for Israel. Those who bless her will be blessed! (Isaiah 62:6-7) Pray for their salvation.

  • Missions: We are called to take His presence and kingdom into other nations with the gospel and bring transformation to the world. (Acts 1:8, James 1:27)

  • Unity of the brotherhood:  We desire unity with all believers in Jesus Christ. Psalm 133 says there is a commanded blessing on those who dwell together in unity.

  • Sanctity of Human Life:  We believe all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is an inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physical or mentally challenged, and every other state or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value, all human life. (Psalm 139)

  • Marriage and family: Our heart is for Godly marriages and strong families. God has instituted marriage and defined marriage as the covenant relationship between a man, a woman and Himself, therefore, New Promise Christian Fellowship will only recognize, and perform marriages between a biological man and a biological woman. Furthermore, the pastors, elders, and leaders will only participate in weddings that solemnize marriages between one man and one woman, who have both professed their faith and acceptance in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are committed to help build strong marriages and families.
